Terms of sale
Last updated 8 October 2026
These terms apply when you buy from Afiabiem online as a consumer. Please read them before you order. They do not affect your legal rights, which are explained below.
1. Who we are
Afiabiem is run by Plughathon Ltd. You can contact us:
- Email: hello@afiabiem.com
- Post: Afiabiem, Update store address in admin, HU1 3DY
2. Placing an order
- Add items to your basket, then go to checkout.
- Enter your postcode to see the delivery options and charges for your address, or choose free click & collect.
- Enter your details. You can go back and correct anything at any point before you pay.
- Select Place order and pay. This is an order with an obligation to pay.
Our contract with you starts when we email you to confirm your order, which happens once your payment has gone through. Keep that email: it includes your order details, our contact details and a summary of your cancellation rights. These terms are in English and we keep a record of your order.
We may decline an order before we confirm it, for example if an item is unavailable or a price was shown wrongly. If that happens after you have paid, we will refund you in full.
3. Prices and payment
- All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT. Where we sell by weight or volume we also show the price per kilogram or litre.
- Delivery charges depend on how far you are from our store and are shown before you pay (see Delivery & returns). Click & collect is free.
- We take payment by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through our payment provider, Stripe, when you place your order. We never see or store your full card details.
- If we discover an obvious pricing error before your order is dispatched, we will contact you and you can choose to go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
4. Delivery and collection
We deliver within the UK only. Delivery options, cut-off times and charges are set out on our Delivery & returns page and confirmed at checkout. If something outside our control delays your order, we will tell you as soon as we can. If we cannot deliver within 30 days of your order (or by the date we agreed, where that date is essential), you may cancel and receive a full refund.
Fresh and chilled items are packed in insulated bags with ice packs and should be refrigerated as soon as they arrive. Fresh produce varies naturally in size, colour and ripeness. We will not substitute an item without asking you first.
5. Your right to cancel (14 days)
For ambient (non-perishable) goods you may cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you, or someone you nominate, receive the goods. If your order arrives in parts, the 14 days run from receipt of the last part.
To cancel, tell us clearly, by email to hello@afiabiem.com or by phone, before the 14 days end. You can use the form below but you do not have to. Then return the goods to our store address within 14 days of telling us. You pay the cost of returning them unless they are faulty or not as described. You can also drop them in at the store.
We will refund the price of the goods and the standard delivery charge you paid within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or proof that you sent them), using your original payment method. We may reduce the refund if the goods have been handled more than needed to check them.
The right to cancel does not apply to:
- fresh, chilled and other perishable items (such as fresh produce, leafy greens, fish and meat), because they deteriorate quickly; and
- sealed food or drink that you have opened after delivery, because it cannot be resold for health and hygiene reasons.
This does not affect your rights if goods are faulty or not as described (section 6).
Model cancellation form (complete and return only if you wish to cancel):
To Plughathon Ltd, Update store address in admin, HU1 3DY, hello@afiabiem.com:
I/We hereby give notice that I/We cancel my/our contract of sale of the following goods: [ ]
Ordered on [ ] / received on [ ]. Order number: [ ]
Name of consumer(s): [ ] 路 Address of consumer(s): [ ]
Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper): [ ] 路 Date: [ ]
6. If something is wrong with your order
We are under a legal duty to supply goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If an item arrives damaged, spoiled, past its date or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible (for fresh items, ideally on the day of delivery, with a photo if you can) and we will refund or replace it. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you can reject faulty goods for a full refund within 30 days, or within the expected life of a perishable item if that is shorter. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. For more information contact Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133).
7. Allergies and food information
Ingredients and allergen information is shown on each product page before you buy and on the product packaging. Products may change, so always check the label on delivery. If you have an allergy or intolerance, please contact us before ordering. Many items are handled in the same store as foods containing allergens.
8. Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods. We are not responsible for business losses: our goods are sold for domestic and private use.
9. Your information
We use your personal information as set out in our Privacy notice.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy, please contact us using the details above and we will try to resolve it quickly. If we cannot, we will tell you about an approved alternative dispute resolution provider and whether we agree to use it.
11. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there.
12. Changes to these terms
The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown here when you placed it.
